Do buying lessons from DFW Music Teacher require any committment?

No committment is required. You can purchase 4-pack (four lessons) at a time on month-to-month basis.

How much does a lesson cost?

Regular or month-to-month price for all instruments 30-minute lesson is $43.75/lesson, 60-minute lesson is $64.75/lesson.  If you commit to 3-months or more, price per lesson goes down (see discount question below).

Will your instructor work with my schedule?

Yes, your instructor will schedule lessons at days and times convenient to you.

How can I have a trial lesson to help me decide?

You can purchase a 4-pack to try out one of our instructors. We don't offer a one trial lesson - to help you decide, please ask for instructors bio.

What is your withdrawal policy?

We require 30-days notification for all withdrawals. If you choose to withdraw without providing 30-days advance notice, you will be responsible for last month's fee.

How can I get a discount on lessons?

If you purchase a 12-pack/3-months (12 weekly 1/2 hr or 1-hr lessons), you receive a 5% discount. 

Can I purchase 1-hr lesson pack and divide 30-minutes between my two children?

Unfortunately, no. Each of our packages are priced to provide best value. That is why our 1-hr lesson package does not cost twice as much as our 30-min lesson. Please purchase individual package for each student.

Do you organize recitals?

Yes, there are several recital opportunities available for students throughout the year. Notification for recitals are sent to registered students via email.

How can I get free lessons?

You receive a free lesson if you refer someone who buys a package. In addition, from time to time we record marketing videos, if you appear in these videos, you will receive a free lesson.

Can you give both my kids lessons at the same time?

We primarily provide 1-on-1 private lessons as they are most effective. Providing lessons to more than one student at a time is a class format and the lesson rates vary depending on various factors, please contact us for a custom quote.

What is your refund policy?

If you've purchased any package but have NOT received a lesson yet, you can request a 100% refund within 3-days. If you've received one or more lessons from any of your purchased package lessons, there are NO refunds.

What is your lesson cancellation policy?

We have a very strict 24-hour notice requirement for all cancellations, reschedules or time changes to a scheduled lesson. You can cancel, reschedule, make changes to scheduled lessons, as long as you provide more than 24-hour advance notice via email or phone without any charge (you are charged for excessive cancellations, please see excessive cancellations section below). If you're unavailable to attend your lesson when your instructor arrives for a scheduled lesson, you will be charged for that lesson. In the unlikely event our instructor misses a lesson, we will reschedule another lesson as soon as possible at your convenience.

What form of payment method do you accept?

All our billing is done via secure Paypal system. You can pay using major credit cards, debit cards, and checks as long as you pay via Paypal. You don't need a Paypal account to pay via Paypal.

Ok, I am ready to register and pay for lessons, what do I have to do?

There are two ways to do this: 1. Simply choose the lesson package from Plans page, and pay it. Then send us an email and tell us about the student and the instrument of your choice. We will match you with a instructor and have him/her contact you to schedule your first lesson. OR 2. Email us using the information request form on the right. Tell us about the student, the instrument of your choice and the package you're interested in purchasing. We will be happy to assist you step-by-step.

Can I schedule my lesson now and pay the instructor when he arrives?

Sorry, all our scheduled lessons are pre-paid. Instructors are not allowed to accept payments.

Can you guarantee that I will have the same teacher all the time?

Short answer is yes. When you sign up, we assign a teacher to you based on your goals and schedule. If that teacher works out for you, he/she is assigned to you and will not change. However, in rare instances, the teacher may move out of town or change jobs and is no longer available, in that instance we will assign another qualified instructor for you.

What is the refund policy on Gift Certificates?

We will gladly refund 100% of Gift Certificate value if none of the lessons have been utilized and you request a refund within 48-hours after the purchase. After the 48-hr period or if portion of the lessons have been used, we are unable to offer a refund.

How long is a Gift Certificate valid?

The Gift Certificates can be redeemed up to 6-months from the date of purchase.

When is lesson package renewal due?

The lesson package renewal is due 1-week prior to last scheduled lesson in your package. For example you've paid for a 4-pack (4 lessons) plan and your lessons are scheduled for Jan 1, 8, 15, 22 then your renewal is due by Jan 15. This allows us to reserve your spot with the instructor. While we send out reminders early, if renewals are done by the last scheduled lesson, we may release your reserved spot with the instructor.

Excessive cancellations/reschedules

While we understand lessons need to be cancelled or rescheduled from time to time. We offer free cancellation/reschedules as long as 24-hour advance notice is provided. Unfortunately, excessive cancellations is bad for business and for the student. Our instructors don’t get paid if there is a free cancellation. Therefore, if there are excessive cancellations, it is unfair to our instructors for not being compensated for their time reserved for you every week. Excessive cancellations are also bad for students as they will miss so many lessons and progress is greatly jeopardized. This policy does not apply to "vacation hold" which means that you are away from home for at least 2 weeks or more. If you use "vacation hold" for reschedules/cancellation, while we'll try our best, we cannot guarantee same schedule when you return.

 

Effective April 1, 2016 students with 10 cancellation/reschedules in a paid package will be charged for 1 lesson per package. (Example: 2 brothers taking piano lessons and both have 10 cancellation in the current 48- pack package, they will both be charged for 1 lesson each from their package). In addition, every 5 cancellation in excess of 10 in a paid package will be charged for 1 lesson (Example: student had 10 cancellation = 1 lesson charged, after few weeks/months they added additional 5 cancellations = 1 lesson charged (1 lesson charged for every 5 cancellation over 10 cancellations).
