FIRST LEGO LEAGUE - JUNIOR:

 

The Brain Club is putting together team members for FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR. We are accepting boys and girls ages 6 - 10 yrs (grades K-4). The team members will meet twice a month for 1hour and work towards challenge project that is recommended by FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR. for 2016-2017 season. To enroll, please follow instructions below:

DESCRIPTION:

 

This program is for kids ages 6 - 10 years and provides introductory level STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) concepts using LEGO model building. Once a team is put together, the team commits to a real-world scientific project that is recommended by FIRST LEAGUE. The team then works together to come up with their original STEM based concept to life using LEGO model building.  Each team member is committing to 2016-2017 season and team size is limited to only 6 students. Team members submit their finished project to FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR. online showcase for sharing and receiving feedback from FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR. teams from around the world. Team can continue learning key STEM concepts by exploring addtional challenges from FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR. online showcase.

DATES & TIMES:

The FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR. Team will meet twice a month for 1-hour on Saturday mornings (dates/times will be provided to enrolled team members). The team will then work on real-world scientific concept and work towards one or more project for submission on FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR. online showcase (physically participating in exhibition and competition not included). We may explore the option of entering in local FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR. exhibition and competitions at a later date.


 

FEE & PAYMENT:

 

Each team member commits to pay $99/month fee to stay a member of the team. This fee allows team members to meet twice a month for 1-hour and work towards their STEM project or projects. These projects can then be submitted to FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR.  online showcase for sharing and getting feedback from teams worldwide. The Brain Club will provide all LEGO kits, instructions and will assist in managing the team project or projects. In future, should the team decide to take part in local exhibition or competition, there will be additional fee involved which will be calculated based on expected cost of participation. 

REFUNDS & TERMS:

 

Due to the nature of the program, there are no refunds. All team members are committed for the 2016-2017 season and are paying $99/month. Should a member wishes to leave the team, please provide 30-day advance notice to withdraw from the team. Minimum 2 members needed to form a team. This monthly fee includes submission of team projects to FIRST LEGO LEAGUE JR. online showcase but does NOT include having FIRST LEGO LEAGUE Jr. team physically participate in exhibition or competition.

Through exploratory research, hands-on construction, teamwork, imagination, and fun with LEGO elements, FIRST® LEGO® League Jr. challenges teams of up to six kids to explore a real-world scientific concept, then build a motorized model and develop a Show Me Poster to illustrate their journey of discovery. Throughout the season, adult coaches provide guidance and inspiration.
