WHAT IS VIBROACOUSTIC THERAPY (VAT):
VAT uses low frequency (wave range: 30Hz-120Hz) sound to soothe the body and help the healing process.

Isnt' VIBROACOUSTIC THERAPY just like a massage chair?
No. In a massage chair or similar device, the parts of the chairs physically move. This movement provides massage sensation due to the contact with part of your body. In VAT, the massage is provided via low frequency sounds waves that harmlessly penetrate your body to soothe and heal the insides of your body.

How does VIBROACOUSTIC THERAPY work?
A VAT device (like specially designed VAT massage table) is embedded with carefully calibrated vibration speakers. The speakers produce soothing healing vibrations when specially designed programs are played through an amplifier.

ABOUT MR. OLAV SKILLE:
​
Mr. Skille, a Norwegian educator and music therapist, has pioneered vibroacoustic therapy research and continues his earlier seminal work as part of the VIBRAC centre’s core group. Even though VAT was developed already 30 years ago, many have re-invented and re-designed his earlier models, showing that his earlier investigations into low-frequency vibrations have been important in the development of integrative medicine and music in medicine.

He has presented his work in both national and international settings, helping to spread the word on the uses and efficacy of VAT. He is the founder and president of the International Society for VibroAcoustics (ISVA) and a member of the scientific committee of the International Society for Music in Medicine (ISMM). His earlier research has included the development of the Skille Musicality Function Test (SMUFT), also called the Musical Behaviour Scale (MUBS), and in investigations into applications thereof in paediatric neurological rehabilitation in addition to his work as a Special Education teacher.

Vibroacoustic Therapy or VAT is one of new exciting form our audio/sound therapy that was invented by Mr. Olav Skille (see bio below). VAT is an non-invasive alternative for various ailments including chronic pain and neurological issues. VAT treatment is provided via short sessions at our facility and is a relaxing experience.
